Tweeddale Medical
Practice will be changing their computer system at the end
January 2008. We have
made the decision
to change to a more advanced clinical system so that we will be
able to improve
streamlining of
patient care. This will be a big change for us but we will
endeavour to minimise any
disruption to your
services.
Will appointments
be affected during the changeover?
On the whole, you
will be able to book appointments as normal. However, there will
be a short period at
the end of
January/beginning of February when we will have to reduce how
far in advance you can book
(up to 2 weeks
ahead). This is to allow us to switch over the appointments
system.
On the first day
of our new system (Friday, 1st February), we will run a Duty
Doctor system only for
emergencies but
all other days will have bookable appointments as normal (this
date has been slightly
amended since publication of our
latest newsletter).
Will ordering of
prescriptions be affected during the changeover?
You will be able
to order your prescriptions as normal. We will try our best to
meet the 48hr target during
this couple of
weeks but patients could really help ease the pressure by
allowing a bit more time between
ordering and
collecting their prescription.
What will be
different after the changeover?
The doctors,
nurses and staff will take a little while to get used to the new
computer system but we are
confident that, in
the longer term, this will help us to improve our service to
you. We would like to thank
you in advance for
your patience and understanding during this extremely busy time
and all members of
the practice team
will try their very best to ensure that you are not adversely
affected during this
changeover period.
