HOW TO USE OUR SERVICES

Join the Practice
If you wish to join our Practice, please call in and our Receptionists will assist you to register with the Practice by providing you with a Registration Pack.  To ensure that you, as a patient, have all the relevant information, as well as a Registration Form and New Patient Questionnaire, this pack also includes the following information leaflets:

  Practice Leaflet

  Quality of Service Standard

  Complaints Procedure

  Helping Us To Help You

It would be most helpful for you to have your medical card with you.  New patients are always offered an appointment with the Practice Nurse or Doctor, for an initial health assessment as well as an explanation of the services we provide.

How to make an appointment
Appointments can be made by telephoning or calling in at Reception, between the hours of 8.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.  If a consultation is required urgently, please make this clear to the Receptionist and every effort will be made to give you an appointment at a suitable time the same day.
How to request a home visit (between 9.00am and 6.00pm)
The Doctors usually set off on their rounds about 10.00am.  If you require a home visit, it would be most helpful to telephone the surgery before 9.30am.  Visit requests after this time make it more difficult for the Doctors to plan their rounds and this may cause some delay.  On average, seeing you at home takes four times as long for the Doctor as seeing you in the surgery.
How to request a consultation (evenings & weekends)
By telephoning the Practice number, your call will be transferred NHS24 and a trained Nurse Practitioner will speak to you about your request.  If NHS24 are unable to assist you with advice-only over the telephone, they will then pass your request on to the Duty Doctor in Fort William.  The emergency cover is provided on a shared rota by local GPs.  The on-call Doctor will deal with your problem seeing you at the Belford Hospital, or by a home visit, whichever is appropriate.
